Blessing Backpack Drive

Blessing Backpacks

We will be collecting items for the blessing backpacks for the homeless at the locations below. This is through the nonprofit we have started in honor of our son Josh who passed away in August.

Our goal is to continually provide Blessing Backpacks to those out on the street who do not have anywhere to live.

Dear Dawn, Don and Josh (Bueno)-

Thanks to all three of you and the generosity of Providence Church members and your friends at Sacramento State, students who are in need of help will have free backpacks, school and hygiene supplies, and warm gloves, socks, and hats. My staff and I were blown away by the wonderful array of items in the 80 backpacks. So very thoughtful. What a great idea to include hand warmers and rain ponchos too!

The items will get us through this school year, and so very many Hiram Johnson students will benefit from your kind generosity. Dawn and Don, I can’t help but think that your son would be so proud of your efforts to honor and celebrate his memory.

Best Regards,

Mary Struhs - Coordinator, Student Support Center - Hiram Johnson High School

After dinner Jordyn and I went to pass out blessing bags. We sat and spoke to Louie for about 30 mins learning about his journey and sharing some of my life with him. He's a very intelligent, humble, faithful and funny gentleman. "Why did God make the banana peel? He didn't, the monkey did." 😂

May God continue to protect for him. I will be visiting with him again.
